Finding pathways to sustainability
in the real world

We conduct interdisciplinary research to identify, design, and develop pathways to sustainability in the real world.

We develop novel approaches to

  • modelling sustainable production and consumption behaviours for identifying practical pathways

  • innovating technologies (e.g., data interoperability and artificial intelligence) for designing scalable pathways

  • constructing systemic solutions for developing real-world pathways.

Our approaches help businesses, consumers, and governments establish rigorous and efficient ways to sustainable production and consumption.

Our research has been applied to the food and drink and agricultural sectors.

FoodPro

FoodPro helps food manufacturers improve food allergen management through designing a novel food allergen traceability system.

The system

  • embeds incentives into the design of food traceability technologies

  • provides an incentive-based approach to mitigating the risks of food allergen recalls.

The project is funded by Food Standards Agency.
